Doctor and Master in Law at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Graduated in Economics from the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC). Also holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Southern Santa Catarina (UNISUL). Conducts research in Economic Analysis of Law, particularly Business Law, an area in which she has worked professionally since 2014. During her Werner Baer Post-Doctoral Position at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), she will conduct research on insolvency institutions, firm survival, and restructuring outcomes, including Professor Ralph Brubaker’s work on judicial reorganization. The project will involve reviewing the legal and economic literature, compiling a dataset of Brazilian judicial reorganization cases, and developing an econometric model to examine the relationship between firm age, productivity, and reorganization success. The expected outcomes include an original dataset and a scholarly article contributing empirical evidence to the law-and-economics literature on insolvency and firm survival.

My research focuses on physical activity and public health, using nationally representative survey data. My path in this field began at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), in my home state of Rio Grande do Sul. Today, my work addresses a critical gap in Brazil: while the country is one of the world's leading producers of research on physical activity, has this scientific production translated into sustained public action? Building on my collaboration with the Global Observatory for Physical Activity (GoPA), my project combines epidemiology, bibliometric analysis, and policy evaluation to map how scientific production, national surveillance systems, public policies, and public investment have evolved over time to promote physical activity and improve public health outcomes across the country.
